Fred Boats is a Swedish company founded by Fred Bergqvist. When he contracted Parkinson’s disease he realized that boating would soon be a thing of the past unless he found a boat that was easy to get aboard. When he saw that the market lacked accessible boats he took things into his own hands and built what was to be the prototype Fred.
With his background as a professional fisherman, building quality boats that keep on going year in year out in all kinds of weather comes naturally to him.
The company’s business concept is to provide high quality, good-looking, functional and cost-effective leisure boats that are manageable no matter a person’s disability.
Fred Boats is located in the northern part of the Stockholm archipilago.
